Hello. : Hello. There seems to be some variability to the statistics. With Clomid (clomiphene) there is reported to be a 5 to 12 percent chance of twins. With in vitro fertilization (ivf), the odds could increase to 20 to 40 percent, depending on the number of embryos used. Chances are lower: Obviously twins are a higher risk for complications than a single gestation but with 2 very healthy heartbeats you certainly can breathe somewhat easier. Your OB will go over with you risks of twins at the various gestational ages but i would try to relax at this point. ...Read more
