Is it possible that my monochorionic diamniotic twins could be a boy and a girl?

Is it possible that my monochorionic diamniotic twins could be a boy and a girl?

Yes: Although it has long been held that monochorionic twins are always identical (monozygotic), there are rare reports of monochorionic/diamniotic twins that are non-identical (dizygotic). This is more common in pregnancies achieved through assisted reproduction (ivf), but is still exceedingly rare. Almost all non-identical twins are dichorionic/diamniotic. ...Read more

If im a twin and my husbands mom is a twin is there a high chance ill have twins?

hypeovulation: Particularly if fraternal twins. Usually inherited through maternal lines is ability to drop two eggs at same time.. Hyper ovulation is the tendency to release multiple eggs during ovulation, increasing the chances of conceiving dizygotic (or fraternal) twins. So, in families where the women have a gene for hyperovulation, genetics would sufficiently explain an increased presence of fraternal twin. ...Read more

Is it possible for a mother to carry her daughters fetus. She is newly pregnant, just a few weeks. Can it be surgically transferred?mom had an ablation.

No: A mother can carry a daughters fertilitized egg or embryo, but you can't transfer a fetus. In addition, endometrial ablation destroys the lining that the baby implants into. So, Mom wouldn't be a candidate for In vitro transfer of a fertilized egg or embryo either. When ablation is done patients should understand that this destroys their ability to carry a baby. ...Read more

My husband is very tall and manly and is upset that our boy is not. Is it possible that he could be having a late puberty?

My husband is very tall and manly and is upset that our boy is not. Is it possible that he could be having a late puberty?

What a shame: Your boy is a boy. How can a boy be "manly" if he hasn't gone through puberty? The positive aspect of delayed puberty is that your son is still growing and will continue to grow until after puberty. Your husband needs to accept that his son will be whatever he grows up to be, be that small and thin, geeky or a jock, straight or gay. He will always be your son. Hope your husband will accept that. ...Read more

My baby died due to erythroblastosis fetalis is there still a chance for me to have another pregnacy and have a normal baby?

My baby died due to erythroblastosis fetalis is there still a chance for me to have another pregnacy and have a normal baby?

Several chances: The father may have only a 50/50 chance of transmitting the gene of the protein that your blood reacts to and attacks causing anemia. Then, if it is present and the baby has blood that your blood reacts to, transfusion can be done in utero (it is risky) http://www.merckmanuals.com/professional/gynecology_and_obstetrics/abnormalities_of_pregnancy/erythroblastosis_fetalis.html ...Read more
