Is It Okay To Drink Juice Instead Of Water Before Kidney Ultrasound
Ultrasound and fluid: The goal for a kidney ultrasoun is to have the bladder full and then do a post voiding image. Does not matter what fluid you use. Would avoid caffeine or alcohol because of the diuretic effect since you may be holding your urine until the appropriate time of the test. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
An ultraound, also known as a sonogram, is a painless and relatively inexpensive imaging test that utilizes sound waves instead of ionizing radiation. There are no side effects. Ultrasound can give us two-dimensional, and in some applications three-dimensional, images of structures and organs in virtually any part of the body. In addition to diagnostic uses, such as evaluating abnormalities in the abdomen, pelvis, and breast, ultrasounds are commonly used to guide needle and catheter placement in a variety of surgical ...Read more
If I only drink 4 medium glasses of water/juice a day and one mug coffee is this enough? If not could it cause pain in kidney area?
Maybe?: I think the amount of water you are drinking is probably sufficient to prevent any kidney issues, if you're doing it regularly. If you have kidney-type pain despite this, I think I would want to get a urinalysis (or at least an in-office "dipstick"-type test of your urine) to look for abnormalities. This may show infection, blood (that might indicate a kidney stone, etc). Good luck! ...Read more

No need to use.: Water does the same thing. Cranberry juice doesn't clean out your kidney any better than any other juice. There is still some banter and common use of cranberry juice for preventing or treating uti, but evidence for this is weak. As best i can see there is no benefit to juicing and there is certainly no need to use kidney cleaner. ...Read more
