Is it ok to take store brand NyQuil, when taking Tamiflu (oseltamivir)?

Is it ok to take store brand NyQuil, when taking Tamiflu (oseltamivir)?

TheFluWon'tFlyAway: Yes, it's OK. Just take as directed (well, a little more NyQuil won't kill you if you think you need it). Tamiflu (oseltamivir) works on the virus. The NyQuil works on the symptoms that the virus is causing. Neither is very good but not totally bogus. More important is rest, fluids, rest, proper nutrition, rest, more fluids, more rest, and *time* and not thinking you can just go about your business normally. ...Read more

Is it ok to take 0.25mg Xanax to temper occasional anxiousness due to newly prescribed Adderall XR 30mg?

Is it ok to take 0.25mg Xanax to temper occasional anxiousness due to newly prescribed Adderall XR 30mg?

Best not: An initial dose of 30mg Adderal would be expected to cause some anxiousness. Best talk to your provider about possibly a lower dose. Xanax does not interact with Adderal in a bad way, it's just best to address the root of the problem. If you find you need 30mg, the side effects are likely to diminish with time. ...Read more

Need approval from: You doc, who should be informed that this dose is no longer effective--particularly important for your next refill! Assuming that you are not a dwarf, your pcp may give you the ok, as adults with ADD or ADHD may need more than the initial dose, which commonly may lose effectiveness. Higher limits are 30 mg twice a day, although most adults respond to 20 mg bid long term. ...Read more

I have epilepsy and take 200mg topamax (topiramate) twice daily. Is it ok to take Adderall or Adderall XR with my topamax (topiramate) to assist with my anxiety/focus?

Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) XR treats: Symptoms of adhd, but can increase anxiety, as can any stimulant. I could not find any studies on the efficacy of Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) for reducing topamax's side effects of difficulty with word-retrieval, loss of train-of -thought & loss of memory, so i'll refer your question to adult psychiatrists on the panel. Both meds can cause weight loss. There is no adverse drug interaction listed. ...Read more
