The back is dense with muscles. The heat should of dissipated and would not have hurt your baby.

Hard to sleep:
It can be hard to get comfortable during sleep, or anything else for that matter. Sleeping on your left side is best because baby gets the most blood flow. Avoid back and obviously your stomach.
