Head trauma: The most significant finding after head trauma is loss of consciousness (LOC). Other important findings are seizure, ataxic gait (walking like your drunk), vomiting, headache, excessive sleepiness. These are all warning signs of potential bleeding in the brain. Not sure: Is it a normal time for you to sleep or do you feel tired/groggy because you bumped your head? The risk is that with brain injury and concussion, the respiratory center in the brain can become compromised and staying awake long enough to seek medical care is thus important. It is unlikely, however, that you hit it hard enough to cause concussion or internal bleed. No way to know without an exam ...Read more

If you have: Concussion sxs get checked out - otherwise get a good night's sleep. They don't really make people stay up after a head bump anymore. Possible concussion

Depends: If you blacked out and have possible concussion, it is recommended to monitor you for any changes in your mentation every 2 hours for the next 24 hours. If you just bumped head without losing consciousness, make sure that you are not having visual issues or nausea for about 3-4 hours.
