No : Children tend to get high fevers which at times can go to 105. The fever itself is not ususally a concern and it is not necessary to get it under 100 with meds. Temps that rise rapidly can trigger seizures in some children. With temps often come achiness and headaches which contribute to fussiness. The more important thing is to confirm the source of fever is not serious and then provide comfort. ...Read more

Should be OK: Fever is sign of ongoing inflammation. Patients can have some low grade fever even after being on antibiotics. It is OK to give the dose per age(mentioned in the label) of acetaminophen or tylenol or ibuprofen. However, need to be careful about the side effects.
