Is It Normal To Poop Every 3 Days
My son is a mo and half and im wondering why he isn't pooping daily? He poops like every three days is this normal? And why is he so gassy?
No it is not normal: It is not normal to poop every 3to4 days. Normaly a person will move bowels once or twice a day if you are moving your bowels every 3to4 days you should consult your doctor, you may need adjustment in your diet, like more fluids, high fiber content and may need a stool softner or a laxative for a short period until you get regular.See 2 more doctor answers

My 9 week old son poops once every 10 days. Yet, he's pooped 3 times in the past three days, 1 for everyday, andhis poop has been bright green/watery/stringy. Could therebe a problem?
Probably ok: Frequent, loose, sometimes greenish stools in infants indicate "rapid transit" of stools that can be due to host of issues but unless he is not eating, having fever, appearing ill may resolve with just observation or care with the diet if other foods have been introduced. If adding new foods this may be part of the problem but not necessarily mean they have to be stopped if this problem resolves.See 2 more doctor answers

This is ok: Breast fed babies can have as few as one or two stools a week or as many as 4-6 per day depending on the child and the other elements in his diet. If there was a sudden change in frequency AND consistency of his stools he may have a viral illness. Give it a few days and if the frequency continues to increase or the stool becomes watery check with his doctor.
I rarely go poop, every couple of days I'm pretty sure that's not normal, when I do it's in morning or right before bed. Norm?
Maybe/maybe not.: It's OK to poop every few days as long as it's soft and not painful or effortful. If it is hard or painful/effortful, you need to get more fiber in your diet (by eating more veggies and fruits) and drink lots more water. If that doesn't help, talk to your Dr. About whether you can use Miralax (polyethylene glycol) regularly to help.
I had a colonoscopy yesterday and was told I should poop in 2 days. It seems every time I eat or drink I have to poop now. Is this normal?

Been eating for 4 days, no urge to poop tried to for last 2 days only little comes out, I normally go every day should I go to the doctor? I am worried
Don't be: What goes in must be absorbed and retained or disposed of. Be patient. It will all come out in the end, so they say.
My son is 3 months old and is fed 8oz of similac sensitive every 3-4 hrs (per ped instructions). He has had watery brown poop for 2 days. Normal?
Mildly abnormal: Don't worry about the stool color unless it is pitch black, bloody, or very light colored. Green, yellow, brown...Doesn't matter. The watery consistency is not exactly normal, perhaps a stomach virus. As long as no vomiting continue the similac. If the loose stools last more than a few days or vomiting develops, see your pediatrician.
I poop once every 3 days. Is that normal? And could that have an indirect impact on the cause of my severe acne? By the way I'm 17 years old
See dermatologist: Having poop every 3 days is not normal, you should poop once a day. Change in your diet like eating more vegetable, fruits and drinking enough fluids will normalize your poop pattern. It does not have any impact on your acne. consult a dermatologist for your acne.See 1 more doctor answer
My 2 month old won't poop, he normally poops with every diaper change? What do I do? He has not pooped in 2 days, he is breast fed, and normally goes with every diaper change.
Constipation: Constipation is the passage of a dry, hard stool - not necessarily the absence of daily stool. If you suspect your child may be crying because he is ill, call your child's doctor. That being said, constipation is common in infants and there are a couple things you can do to help. 1.) give pear or prune juice - 1oz/age in months/day so in your case 2 oz. Not only does prune or pear juice have sugar which can help soften bms, but also has fiber (notice the gritty texture when you drink it?). This does not mean that you should be feeding your baby juice as a part of his regular diet, but it's ok in daily small amounts to treat constipation. 2.) if juice does not work, then you can try a glycerine suppository which you can buy over the counter. Just cut a pea-sized piece of the glycerine and place it in the baby's anus to lubricate the hard stool. This is not meant for daily use, so if you find that your baby needs a suppository in order to have a bm despite dietary changes, discuss with your child's doctor. 3.) do not use mineral oil, laxatives or enemas. These methods are not safe for infants. 4.) finally, if constipation is persistent and not improved with any of the above recommendations, be sure to contact your baby's doctor. There are some very rare underlying disorders such as hirschprung's disease, cystic fibrosis or hypothyroidism that can cause chronic constipation.See 2 more doctor answers
Time to get help...: The average bowel frequency in america varies from 3 movements daily to 1 every 3-4 days. You are clearly outside the bell curve & need help now. Whether you have colon inertia, rectal dyssynergia, partial obstruction (intrinsic or extrinsic), ischemic gut, metabolic "imbalance", or some other disorder you should get checked & treated. Age, co-morbidities, longevity of symptoms may alter prognosis.
3 months old infant. Recently changed formula from 'novalac' to 'NAN' pooping continuously after every fed. Is it normal?
Common: In infants it is common for them to have a bowel movement after each feed. Most important is to see if the child is behaving and responding well. If baby is sucking well, feeding well, has no vomiting, smiles and is active, there is no cause for concern. But if you remain worried take the baby to a pediatrician to have the baby checked.

My daughter is 3 months old she poops once a day sometimes every other day. Is that normal or okay?
Normal: It is normal for infants to stool daily or every other day at her age. Breast-fed infants will even go for 4-5 days sometimes. Don't worry about the frequency and how hard she seems to be working when she does go. What is important is the consistency of the stool. As long as it is soft and not painful to her, this is normal. If she has hard balls in her stool, that can be a sign of constipation.
What can I do to give myself a pooping schedule? Somedays ill go three times, others once, somedays twice. What can I do to make it the same every day
Don't be obsessive..: Your "pooping schedule" is based on what and where you eat in addition to you body.... Having a reproducible schedule, while maybe desired, it not necessary.
