Depends: If the girl is taking the stimulant for excessive daytime sleepiness, either from narcolepsy or sleep apnea, then the dose of the Ritalin (methylphenidate) may not be enough to help her stay awake. Depends : From your information it looks as if you been diagnosed with more than just adhd and that the insomnia preceded the use of adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine). In general that low dose taken in the am does not usually cause sleep issues in an adult although it might aggravate existing issues.
