Is It Normal To Have Mood Swings After Having A Partial Hysterectomy
Mood swings: Yes. After a partial hysterectomy, it is not uncommon to have hormonal shifts that can lead to mood swings. These will resolve. If the mood swings become concerning or do not resolve, call your doctor. Nonetheless, discuss your mood experiences with your doctor at your next appointment.See 1 more doctor answer

If, however, you actually look really angry, we would say your mood is "happy" and ...Read more

I'm going to be 52 next month. I had a partial hysterectomy in 2005 and was wondering if I would be having a normal menopause; I do have my ovaries.?
Menopause: You will have a normal menopause, without the common irregular cycles that may accompany the end of your peri-menopausal years. The ovaries stop function with production of hormones at an average age of 51. If you are symptomatic with hot flashes, night sweats, decreased libido, etc. Then you should contact your physician to see if you are a candidate for hormone therapy.See 1 more doctor answer
Had partial hysterectomy 6wks ago. I had light bleeding for about 3wks and it stopped. Well now I have more bleeding with a fowl smell. Is this normal?
No: It is common after surgery to have bleeding from the healing process. But now this seems abnormal and I would be concerned about an infection. You do not want that to get worse if it is going on. Would recommend seeing your surgeon to be examined and evaluated

I had a partial hysterectomy last year I started to bleed this morning with a horrible back pain is this normal. Just uterus removed?
No: If you had your whole uterus removed this is definitely not normal. You need to be seen immediately either at your doctor's office, an urgent care clinic, or an emergency room. The back ache could be because of a kidney stone or a severe bladder infection. If the bleeding is rectal it could be diverticulitis, colitis, or colon cancer. If it is vaginal that is also very worrisome-nothing left to bleed

I had a partial hysterectomy 9 years ago, I have one overy, one fallopian tube, and I had sex normally with my husband and started spotting light bloo?
Scar tissue: Post-coital bleeding after a hysterectomy can be due to granulation tissue AKA "proud flesh" at the vaginal cuff but this usually happens long before 9 years post-op. It can be due to scar tissue which is not as elastic as the normal vaginal tissue or because of an infection or chemical sensitivity that has left the vagina raw. An exam by your GYN or PCP will be needed to tell what is going on.
