Is It Normal To Have Crunching And Grinding In My Tm Joints During Movement
Im 22 and I have suddenly noticed increasing joint pain in my hips, knees and jaw all within a week...Almost to the point that i can't move.Whats wrong?
Is it normal to have slight movement or wobble in your front teeth when pressure is applied? I have crowded teeth.
Normal movement?: I have had patients say their teeth are loose when in fact there is slight normal movement while others do not seek treatment for very loose teeth with obvious problems. This needs to be seen and evaluated by a trained professional-namely your own dentist. Call and make that appointment so you know for sure. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Having grinding noises when moving my shoulders and pain in one shoulder. What could be the problem?

My joints in my hips, shoulder, jaw, and ankle pop and click regularly. Jaw clicking is very painful but the rest is just uncomfortable and annoying.
Exam: Hips shoulders and ankles are out of my wheelhouse but if jaw popping is painful, you need to be examined by someone who is knowledgeable about TMD, Tempero Mandibular Dysfunction. Painless occasional cracking sounds are fairly common but you may have underlying pathology that needs treatment sooner rather than later because the longer it stands, the harder it is to treat. ...Read more
Possible: There hasn't been any evidence that cracking joints, backs, necks results in anything. Usually its just gas being released from these joints as you move. However if at some point it does start to hurt after the cracking I would see your doctor for further evaluation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Sometimes I hear a click sound in my neck joint that seems to relieve the stress. Is that a sign of spondylitis?
37 female. Hearing heartbeat in ear. Seems to stop when I clench my jaw. Also have pain in tendons running from elbow to wrist, not sure associated?
Unrelated: These symptoms are unrelated. It is not uncommon to feel or hear the pulse in the ear, but if it is a very noticeable feeling, it's prudent to have your blood pressure checked to make sure it's not elevated. Your arm symptom is nonspecific but could be due to an inflamed tendon in the elbow. If you can take them, nsaids like Advil or Aleve (naproxen) may help. Otherwise see your physician for evaluation. ...Read more

Not caused by injury. For the past week, I have been unable to fully bend or extend elbow. Pain is on the inside, top of the joint during movement.
Locked elbow: Very important to make sure you do not have a spontaneous infection. If you have any fever redness or lots of pain with motion go to ER or your family doctor and get this checked out ASAP. If not infected could be a loose body or other soft tissue structure getting stuck in the elbow joint. Go to an orthopedic surgeon and get 3Vs xrays of the elbow done. If Xrays negative then get MRI. ...Read more

I'm 21. All my joints started to pop recently from everything between & including feet to sternum & shoulders from normal movement. Why/how do I fix?
Loose Joints: People with hypermobile joints might have joint hypermobility syndrome (jhs) with inherited laxity of ligament tissue. Ability to lock knees & put palms on floor can be sign of jhs. Osteopath should be able to diagnose. Mostly in females & can predispose to fibromyalgia. Solution is lean body mass & toned muscles. Yoga, swimming, & gentle weight training can stabilize joints & reduce laxity. ...Read more

Fractured radius - why are my finger joints are very stiff each morning? Improves during the day with movement.how long will this last? Thanks
Swelling from break:
The fracture causes inflammation, which impedes the normal flow of lymph from the hand to the arm and then into the central veins. Because of this slowdown, your fingers are a little swollen and feel stiff.
Elevating your arm, which gives the flow a boost from gravity, might help.
This is temporary, don't worry. ...Read more

Is it normal for many of your joints to pop and crack just with simple movement? I have oa and had several surgeries. Acdf c5-c7 3 yrs ago, neck worse
Cervical spondylosis: Yes. The popping of the facet joints in the neck is similar to cracking of knuckles in the hands. After a neck fusion, there is extra stress on the adjacent segments (facet joints) that can lead to increased popping. Neck exercises can improved strength and range of motion and reduce popping. Likewise, cortisone injections may reduce pain and range of motion as well. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

During bowel movement, severe pain in pelvis/back on both sides in area of SI joints. Intense, deep burning sensation - still here 6hrs ltr. ?
Unusual: but the innervation patterns in this area are complex. If this is the first time it has happened, I would use a heating pad or sit in warm water and see if it doesn't go away, while starting a bulky fiber diet and taking a stool softener so you won't have to strain at all. If it keeps up, you may need to have an exam to be sure you didn't "split" the inner skin a little. You can take Tylenol. ...Read more
My son is 13 and his joints pop and crack all the time. Simple movements as walking result in several popping sounds all day long. Is this normal?
Teenagers: often have joint symptoms related to their rapid rate of growth and relative laxity of their ligaments. If there is no pain, discomfort or limitation of movement, then the popping and cracking is probably nothing to be concerned about. Obesity, even in teenage years can cause damage to joints of the lower extremities, so if obese medical consultation is warranted. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
