Post op tonsillectomy 5-6 days- is it normal to have white patches (scabs) on the uvula as well as the tonsils?

Yes: The uvula can be irritated from the breathing tube (endotracheal tube) which goes down your throat. It is sloughing or shedding mucosa that was injured and new normal tissue will return. RESIDUAL TONSILS: Depends on the technique used. Generally, tonsilectomy removes the tonsils completes. If the surgeon just debulk them or reduce them, you will see some residual tissue. The residual tonsil tissue may become infected or inflamed in the future and require additional surgery.
