Palpitations: You have perfectly described "palpitations." this is due to an irregularity of your heart rhythm which tends to be sporadic. A prolonged recording of your heart rhythm (at least 24 hours but may require 30 days) will be necessary to detect the arrhythmia. An echocardiogram will determine if your heart is structurally and physiologically normal. Blood work will determine if you have triggers. ...Read more

If they separate from one another, a tent-shaped protrusion is evident in the midline when contracting these muscles. The strong (but thin) tissue that envelopes these muscles, called fascia, remains intact; therefore, there is no hole (like a hernia) and surgery is not necessary. Great description! ...Read more

What could the reason be for a sudden increased vascularity in 2 of the lower saphenous veins that go all the way from ankle to knee, after a period of inactivity but also of eating less pasta?

Inacitivity: When your legs are dependent [ below the heart] and not moving , venous engorgement / distention occurs. Activity and its associated muscle contractions propel blood toward the heart and out of the venous system. The pasta meal may effect your hydration which would effect venous distention as well. ...Read more
