In Dec 2016 I had a myomectomy. Jan 2017 I had a normal cycle, this month I've been bleeding for 18 days. Is this normal?

Yes: The disturbance of the endometrial and uterine lining caused the fibroids/surgery can take some time to repair itself. Be patient. However, you should also be vigilant and monitor symptoms closely. The bleeding and related symptoms should gradually improve. If this is not the case, consult with doctor. Good luck! ...Read more

I had a myomectomy on the 2 March, been spotting between periods(normal and on time) since. Is this norm?Or should I be worried?

Possibly: It is hard to say what is causing the bleeding. The two categories are something in the uterus causing the bleeding or fluctuations in hormones causing destabilization of the lining. An evaluation would give answers. ...Read more

6 months ago i had myomectomy after 2 m/c. Removed10 fibroids. It is now 3 months that we tried to conceive and still negative. Is it normal?

Can be normal: 3 months following a myomectomy and not conceiving is not abnormal. Three months not having had surgery and not pregnant is not abnormal. I would give it a total of 12 months before seeking assistance from an infertility specialist. ...Read more

I had a myomectomy 3 years ago, and I've been suffering pressure (especially while peeing), tiredness and UTI's ever since, is this normal?

Here are some...: Uterine myomectomy alone should not cause the symptoms you have suffered from although mild pelvic discomfort at emptying bladder may occur reflecting fast bladder collapse at peeing, but still remote. For tiredness and UTIs, you need a systemic comprehensive evaluation. 2 years after my laproscopic myomectomy I am experiencing inner hip pain, my left leg is now weaker than the right. Is this a normal side effect?

Experiencing incontinence but never had a baby. Had myomectomy recently to remove fibroids but still have issues. I do light weight lifting. Cause??

Hard to know: Incontinence can be caused by an anatomical defect (stress incontinence that occurs with coughing, sneezing) and may be treated surgically or may be a nerve issue (urge incontinence/overactive bladder) which may be treated medically. Both may respond to pelvic muscle exercises and voiding on a scheduled, say every 2 hours. See a specialist if this continues to bother you. ...Read more

My lap-myomectomy was on 3 weeks back.(sumucous fibroid).I was bleed 6-7 days. Now my period came 10 days late.Is it normal? It was regular before myo.

Not unusual: If the fibroid was submucosal, then the uterine lining was disrupted during the surgery so it is not unusual to expect some bleeding associated with that, it is also not unusual that you would have normal "period bleeding" separate form the postoperative bleeding. None of this sounds worrisome. ...Read more

If i will be undergoing myomectomy surgery -fundal fibroids ( 3) , in my 30's, what is normal hb (hemoglobin)?Do i need blood transfusion ?

About 12-16 g/dL.: Normal hemoglobin for an adult female is between 12-16 g/dl (7.4-9.9 mmol/l). You might need blood, like 2 units for your surgery to replace any blood lost. If you are anemic, which might be the case in these circumstances, you might need more. At any rate, your doctor, to prepare you for surgery might talk to you about autologous transfusion, or donating blood to yourself. Best of luck. ...Read more

22wks pregnant.Had myomectomy 8mnths back.I always feel mild cramps in my abdomen. Some groin pain also.So always tuk rest.Did scan, normal. Is this ok?

Likely: Your doctor who is taking care of you and performed your scan is the best to tell you if everything is normal. That was definitely a short time between having a myomectomy and getting pregnant. Most doctors recommend 18 months between surgery and getting pregnant, assuming the surgery went through your uterine layers of muscle. Tell your doctor about your pain. ...Read more
