Is It Normal To Feel Lymph Nodes When Theyre Not Swollen
On my 4 year i can feel his lymph nodes in the side of his neck, under his ear all the time, theyre not swollen, i can just feel them. Is this normal?
How many lymph nodes can you feel in back of 2 yo head? I feel clusters at base of neck. Not swollen but 4-5. 1 is tiny like sand but mobile. Normal?
Likely normal: We have many lymph nodes in our neck. They are more noticeable (easly palpable) in thin patients and in patients who have an active infection or inflammation. If they are small (pea-sized) and mobile, they are likely normal. If it persists, becomes tender, or enlarges, see you pediatrician. Also if it seems the l ymph nodes are merging into 1 mass, see your pediatrician. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I feel a string of lymph nodes in both sides by "tail" of breasts.. How do I know if I'm feeling normal ones or swollen. If on both sides is that good?
Merits evaluation.: A breast surgeon or surgical oncologist would be the best authority to see for an opinion as to the nature of the lymph nodes. The breast exam and ones own history and family history come first; then a decision is made concerning the best imaging modality to clarify the findings. ...Read more

Lymph nodes: Swollen lymph nodes are common and usually will swell secondary to some type of infection or allergy. I expect your problem should be short lived. However some lymph nodes will swell and remain palpable. This is usually not a concern. However, if they become big or spongy that can be a sine of lymphoma. I have a fever blister and swollen lymph nodes and just don't feel good, is that pretty normal with a fever blister? Just feel drained.
Not really...: Ususally there's no lymph node swelling or systemic symptoms ("feel drained") in recurrent oral herpes (fever blister, cold sore). But outbreaks often are triggered by infections that cause these symptoms. Probably that's what's going on. A brand new herpes infection could do this, but unlikely with only a single sore and no new exposure. See doctor if symptoms severe or last more than 3-4 days. ...Read more
Was diagnosis with bell's palsy had CT scan it was normal. I have swollen lymph nodes and can't hear. Ear feels swollen could this still be bells or neuroma?
Not likely: There may be some other underlying cause for all of this. It's possible that the bell's palsy was misdiagnosed and now with these other issues the true issue can b detected. The lymph nodes and decreased hearing are concerning and a visit to an ENT as well as imaging likely with a ct scan with contrast is indicated. If the nodes are large and mobile a biopsy may b easy to as well. Must see md. ...Read more
How can I tell if my lymph nodes are swollen? How do I tell? What do they normally feel like? What do they feel like swollen? How do I check?
Lymph nodes on neck still slightly swollen 3 weeks after flu. GP says no cause for concern. Is this normal?
For a long time: After an illness that produces swollen lymph nodes the nodes can stay somewhat swollen and tender for a long time, even weeks. Sometimes a slight swelling can remain forever! That being said, the general trend week to week should be one of improvement, smaller size and less pain. If this does not occur you should follow-up with your doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
