Vaginal discharge: A yellowish vaginal discharge is most common with a trichomonas infection. Clindamycin is not an adequate treatment for trichomonas. Yeast? Recheck w/ MD: You say nothing about timing. How soon after starting or finishing metronidazole? Any other symptoms, like itching or irritation? Antibiotics like metronidazole can result in yeast infection, which often causes "clumped" discharge -- although usually white, and main symptom usually is itching etc. Best to check back with the doctor who treated your BV. Why?: The treatment for bacterial vaginosis is Metronidazole for 7 days. Clindamycin is also a treatment by itself but not to be used together or one after the other.
