Depends: Any soiurce of stress can affect your menstrual flow. It is possible for any drug to have different side effects, but not knowing whether your medication is oral or vaginal, it would be difficult to say that it is "normal" to bleed heavily after treating a yeast infection. Infection? Not yeast: I would guess that your apparent yeast infection was something else; or yeast plus something else -- especially if your main symptom was discharge and not itching/irritation.
