There are two explanations. The first being you are pregnant. The second is that your body had a withdrawal bleed after stopping the Depo-Provera and your hormones have not stabilized as of yet. Schedule a visit with your doctor for an evaluation and the possibility of oral birth control pills to stabilize your hormones and resume your period.
Take care. ...Read more
Been on the Depo-Provera shot for 11 years and never had a period while on the shot. Today I've had bleeding and think I am getting my period. Is this normal?
I was on the Depo-Provera shot for about 4 years. I discontinued about a year ago. I recently got my period. Now I have heavy bleeding, severe cramps and vomiting. Is this normal?
Maybe: If this is your first period since stopping Depo-Provera then it could be normal. There can be a lot of lining of the uterus to shed. And if the cramping is bad you can get nausea and vomiting. However if you've had periods recently that aren't this bad then there's a chance you have an infection. Then you want to see a doctor. ...Read more

I'm having heavy today bleeding after cyrotherapt three weeks ago. I'm on the Depo-Provera shot and haven't had a period in almost a year.
Depends: It's common to have discharge after cryotherapy, but, that said, it's unusual to have delayed heavy bleeding like you describe. Cryotherapy shouldn't mess up your hormones. Perhaps there was a scab or clot that just got dislodged. If the bleeding lasts more than 48 hours, especially if it continues to be heavy, you should contact your gyno. ...Read more

Lots of reasons for cramping, bloating, bleeding, brown discharge. Go see your doc. ...Read more

If you have been on Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone) for over a year and you bleed with every other shot you get is it normal?
Gyno says its normal to have heavy bleeding after cryotherapy. She says its because I'm on depo. I haven't had a period in a year. Normal???
Errr...: It's normal "up to a point." heavy bleeding for LIMITED times soon after cryo is likely normal, prolonged heavy bleeding or bleeding months after a cryo is likely NOT normal. Depo-Provera does not cause heavy bleeding tho many women describe it as heavy because it's frequent. Keep a close watch on the bleeding and talk with your doctor again if worried. Good wishes. ...Read more
