Is It Normal To Bleed When You Are 5 Weeks Pregnant
Report any bleeding: If a woman has had a positive pregnancy test and begins to bleed, there is concern about threatened miscarriage. A visit to an obgyn for evaluation and at some point an ultrasound can provide additional information. Even if the pregnancy progresses, there is an increased risk of bleeding again. When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Pregnancy bleeding: It is not uncommon for there to be light spotting early in pregnancy. Up to 25% of women will have some bleeding in the first trimester due to the lining of the uterus being pushed out of the way as the pregnancy nests into the lining. It is usually limited to a few days. See your physician when you are 6-10 weeks pregnant to check for a heartbeat on ultrasound. ...Read more
I am 5 weeks pregnant and am bleeding slightly. I went to the dr 2 days ago and had an ultrasound and was told everything looked normal after bleeding some the previous days. I have no cramping or pain. Should I be concerned?
Sure - but not a lot: I could not tell you to ignore the bleeding - after all it is not normal. It is not rare, though, either, so take it for what it is: a threatened abortion. Folic acid 1-5 mg daily orally, bedrest and positive thoughts/prayers help. Best of luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Im 9.5 weeks pregnant and im having cramps on my right side around what would be my ovary is that normal or could it be early miscarriage? No bleeding
Could be ovary: Having cramps on the right side in early pregnancy but no bleeding could be from the right ovary. The cramping could also be from gas in intestines or constipation. Since no bleeding unlikely to be miscarriage. ...Read more
I am 5 weeks pregnant but this morning i started bleeding a bit. Is this normal in early pregnancy or am i miscarrying? I have taken 4 hpt and all are positive but i started bleeding this morning. It isnt a lot, but its enough to scare me. My doctor said
I : I am afraid that you obstetrician is correct. If you are miscarrying at 5 weeks, there is nothing that will prevent it. A miscarriage this early on could potentially present with few cramps. The viability of the pregnancy can be checked via ultrasound or by checking to see if HCG levels are declining or increasing. On the other hand, your spotting was described as minimal. I am sorry you are going through, but time will tell. Take care. ...Read more

Common but check it: Light bleeding is quite common during first couple of months of pregnancy, but could be sign of early miscarriage too.
