Simple: Go to your doctor and the initial exam is a rectal exam to feel the prostate, if needed a blood test can be done as part of your insurance, and if there's anything abnormal a referral to the specialist can then be made. No: Having had many, i would have to say they are not comfortable, but they don't really hurt, unless the prostate is infected. I can't think of any way to make it "hurt less" but i think if you have one you'll be surprised that it isn't that bad. ...Read more

Nocturia: Yes, I would start with getting urinalysis and prostate exam and PSA. You could have urinary tract infection or more likely a prostate infection.
