Is it normal to be able to feel very small pea sized lymph nodes in collar bone?

Is it normal to be able to feel very small pea sized lymph nodes in collar bone?

Lymph nodes: That area of the body is rich in lymph nodes. So it is not unusual to find them there. However, if the node is painful or enlarging it should be evaluated. Lymph nodes serve as filters for white blood cells. I would keep track of it. If it gets bigger or painful(besides you checking it) it should be looked into. ...Read more

I can palpate my 2 supraclavicular lymph nodes. They aprx. 1.2 cm above my collar bone. They are small and rubbery. Is it normal?

Merits evaluation: Although lymph nodes above the clavicles are usually not prominent enough to be felt, they are not necessarily abnormal. However, a careful exam, possibly including chest X-rays, would be appropriate. Disease in the head and neck, throat, lungs and blood can cause enlarged supraclavicular lymph nodes. Disease can include cancer, infections and autoimmune disease. ...Read more

Dr said I have mono. Lymph nodes swollen on underside od jaw and just noticed one on the left side above collar bone. Is this normal?

Typical for mono: This sounds normal for infectious mononucleosis. Enlarged lymph nodes can occur all over the body, and above the collarbone (the supraclavicular fossa, in medical terminology) is a common site. That said, mono is pretty uncommon above age 25. Discuss with your doctor if any doubt about the diagnosis. ...Read more

2 lymph nodes above collar bone. Had an US doc said they are reactive and max 9mm. Should I still push for biopsy? I don't have any symptoms of infec.

Listen to doc: What would be gained by pushing for biopsy? You may watch and wait. You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if the lymph glands double in size, become painful, ulcerate, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, you should consult your doctor again, as it would be time for biopsy then.
Wish you good health!

I have sores in my nose could this cause enlarged lymph nodes in my neck and collar bone ?

I have sores in my nose could this cause enlarged lymph nodes in my neck and collar bone ?

Yes, but...: Sores in your nose can make your neck lymph nodes enlarged. But the lymph nodes above your collarbone are less likely to be enlarged from sores in your nose. These lymph nodes can be enlarged from something going on in your lungs, chest wall, thyroid, or mouth. Cancer of the lymph nodes (lymphoma) makes them rubbery and swollen but not painful. If these don't get better soon, see a doctor! ...Read more
