Yes: There are several reasons to explain this common occurrence. Anemia is common and it means you have less oxygen in your blood. Because your oxygen needs have stayed the same or possibly increased, you body is going to ask your heart to work harder to make up for the lower oxygen (really hemoglobin). The : The pulse typically does go up during pregnancy, the the blood pressure usually goes down. I am glad that you had an extensive evaluation including an echocardiogram. However obtaining a second opinion is always a good idea and may put your mind at rest as well. Be sure you are staying well hydrated. Be sure that your thyroid testing was normal. ?SVT: Could represent "cardiac awareness, " a benign condition, or else could be some type of arrhythmia. Most common of these at your age would be symptomatic pvcs (a benign condition very common in which extra heart beats occur) or possibly svt (supraventricular tachycardia). Anxiety: As per FDA Report, there is less than 1% incidence of tachycardia (heart racing) with prenatal vitamins. Thank you for informing about anxiety and panic attacks. No reason?: You say "for no reason" but, no doubt, there is a reason. It just hasn't been discovered yet. Heart rate picks up in response to increased metabolic demand - stress, anxiety, fever, caffeine, nicotine, pain.
