Is It Normal For Me To Have Fluid Behind My Thigh
It depends: It depends on the location. Behind the thigh in the mid to upper thigh region would be unusual. If it is lower down near the knee then that is not uncommon and may represent a cyst or fluid filled cavity. It would be important to know whether you are talking about a swollen area (muscle strain), a discrete mass (tumor or fatty lump), or a fluctuant area (fluid filled space). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Is it normal for the surgical wound on my leg to produce yellowish fluid for a week? How do I stop it?
Natural Process: When there is injury to our skin, inflammation occurs which means the area becomes red, warm, tender and with swelling. The swelling occurs under the skin layers and then can leak out of an open wound. The fluid contains water, protein, electrolytes and cells that give it color. This is a natural process and aids in healing. As it heals, the drainage will decrease. Keep it covered. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
The behind the knee of one leg is bigger than the other one. Assymetrical. The knee itself is not swollen. What does that mean? Causes? Is it normal?

Got a blue/purple vein behind my calf the bit where you bend your leg.Its flat just wondering if its normal dont have it on the other leg Istand often?

If it grows, becomes hard, or becomes painful tell your doc because you may need further evaluation & possible treatment. ...Read more
What would cause a person to have a fever almost daily for a year and one leg that swells like an elephants w fluid found behind muscles of this 39 f?
Fever & leg swelling: Of course, it is not absolutely certain that the 2 problems are related, but assuming they are, i would be suspicious of the possibility of venous insufficiency in the leg, a clot in the leg, a rarer condition called lymphedema (where the lymph vessels are blocked). These can give risk to a chronic indolent infection which might cause fever. Fever for a year is so unusual that it will need eval. ...Read more
Hi doc, sometime in my left leg bone exact behind hip i experience sharp pain for just few min n then it get totally normal wts that?pls ans doc.
Tendonitis: Based on your age and limited description of this problem it most likely you have pulled muscle or hamstring tendon. It is possible that you are getting referred pain from your spine (such as sciatica), but not as likely without other symptoms. Hip joint problems are also unlikely given your young age. This is a common problem in runners or those who play sports. ...Read more

Left ankle/lower leg is swollen. Bp normal. No salt. No excess fluids. Took hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) & atenolol. What's up?
Swelling: The swelling is likely caused by what is known as venous insufficiency. The elasticity of our veins decreases with age and doesn't recoil efficiently to move blood against gravity toward the heart. Support stockings, weight loss, leg elevation can help. If this is acute in onset and associated with pain you should see your doctor to rule out a more serious condition as a blood clot. ...Read more
