Is It Normal For Me To Be Hoarse After My Temporal Lobe Surgery
Hi six years ago i had a thyroidectomy removing the right lobe only. this has left me permanently hoarse.and sometimes even waking to a lost voice.what can be the cause of this?
When 2 get evaluated: Voice changes after thyroidectomy can occur, it is usually temporary. The nerve that controls the voice is close to the site of your surgery. Get an evaluation with your local ENT doc. Ask for an evaluation of your vocal cords. Likely they will look at your cords with a scope. It is not too late, take friend or family with you to exam. Be well. ...Read more
Had face palsy for 4 months now after surgery trauma. When I make face movement, my ear flutters. Is this Synkinesis and is it permanent or sep Issue?
Could be synkinesis: The muscles that move the external ear are controlled by the facial nerve, the same nerve probably affected by your surgery trauma. As the nerve heals, the signals that go to the various branches of the nerve can get "crossed" and activate muscles in the wrong part of the face. This is synkinesis. This is most often a permanent issue. ...Read more
After my successful TB treatment my X-ray is still negativ and doctor told me it will be like this forever and ESR is normal now. Is it correct?
I've had a swollen lymph node under my chin for 3 months. My doc told me not to worry but i'm scared. Is it really ok for it to be swollen this long?
Maybe: Without being able to feel this node it is difficult to say, but if it is soft, movable (not fixed to underlying tissue), not particularly tender, hot or red, then there is a high likelihood that it is entirely benign. It is possible that it is enlarged because you have a persistent focus of inflammation in the area (dental or gum problem, etc.). This is a common area for enlarged nodes. ...Read more
I had chalazion surgery 1/mo ago and my eyelid is still somewhat swollen (although not infected). Is this normal and will it return to normal?
Eye surgery: The best thing to do when you have a question about a surgical procedure is to ask the doctor who performed it since they are the most knowledgeable. Swelling of this nature is not unusual and is one of the classic responses of the body to trauma. Surgery is controlled trauma. You should get better with time, but talk to your doctor anyway. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

One week post custom laisek: my right eye is great but my left eye still suffer from poor contrast . Is this permenant or it needs more days to heal?
I had 3 swallon nodes in my neck for 6 weeks then 2 have shrunk to normal and there is one left, I have been told by my oncologist that It is almost certain that it is galanjala fever
does this sound correct?
Probably: Lymph nodes that appear in the neck are most often inflammatory or represent a metastatic process to neck. At times there is primary lymph node pathology such as lymphoma. When 2 or the 3 nodes resolve the 3rd is on its way and by definition is inflammatory in nature --one might say a form of glandular fever. ...Read more
Is it normal to experience anxiety after having a subdural heamatoma?I had burr hole surgery to fix it and my ears ring a lot now is this normal?
Effects may vary: A subdural hematoma is a serious issue. So anxiety, depression, and other cognitive effects can develop both as a result of the original injury that caused the sdh and/or the resulting surgery. If you haven't seen a doctor about these symptoms, i'd recommend doing so and soon. Sdh and post-treatment is not a small matter. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
