5 year old is complaining that her heart hurts. Sometimes after physical activity and other times not. Should I be concerned?
See your doctor: Is it really her heart or is it her chest? Most "heart pain" in children is really musculoskeletal chest wall pain and is not a concern. While I am not concerned, that is a question that is best answered after the child is seen.Make an appointment with your doctor. Tylenol (acetaminophen) may help. Ibuprofen may help, etc. Nothing is better than a visit for evaluation and reassurance. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What is ideal blood pressure (0 risk for strokes and heart attacks) for a 59.5 year old man who weighs 189 pounds and is 5' 11.5 " inches tall?
Less than 140/90,: Less than 140/90, the closer to 120/80 the better as per the present data. Although too low is not good either. 110 or below may actually be a stroke risk factor. Note that many people with normal BP have stroke and HD as well. Family history is a very important risk factor in my opinion. Many argue that it's not the number, but the BP medicine itself. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Heart rate of 140 in a 4 year old with fever dangerous? Otherwise healthy child. Beat is regular just rapid. Thank you
Not unexpected: The range of the awake heart rate of a 4yo is 60-140. The addition of fever generally increases the rate by 10 beats/degree/min. The respiratory rate also increases by ~5 breaths/min/degree.
