I have pcos i just got on birth control about a month ago this week im supposed to have my period but it has not come is this normal? Not sexually act

Normal: Combined Oral Contraceptives (COCs) help patients with PCOS prevent hyperplasia (overgrowth of uterine tissue) and promote regular menstrual cycles. However, it can take several months for this to occur, and in some PCOS patients may not lead to normal menstrual cycles. However the COCs are still reducing endometrial cancer risk and may improve acne and hirsutism (facial hair) in PCOS patients. ...Read more

I am not on birth control but have had regular periods after being on the Depo-Provera shot 2 years. This month I got mine 10 days early. What could this be?

Hard to tell: Get a pregnancy test as first intention. If negative and if you had sex within 4 days of performing the test repeat it in 1 week, if still negative you can wait untill next period. If unusual pain develops or heavy bleeding go see your pcp or ob/gyn asap. ...Read more

I know i'm not pregnant. I've been getting my period every 2 weeks the doctor put me on bith control pills now my period is a watery brown. It's never done this before.?

Irregular bleeding: The watery brown, instead of fresh red, period suggests that the bleeding is slowing down. Keep in mind that if the period is not regulated, you may need more test to find the cause of the frequent periods. ...Read more

I am on my "period" on birth control pills (2nd cycle). It is heavy like it was before being on it. Is it normal to have PMS (cramps, back pain, etc) ?

I am on my "period" on birth control pills (2nd cycle). It is heavy like it was before being on it. Is it normal to have PMS (cramps, back pain, etc) ?

Maybe normal: Pms can be divided into physical symptoms, like you described, and emotional symptoms (moody, anxious). The physical symptoms are directly related to the actual bleeding process, and i would even expect them with a pill "period", especially if it's heavy. Mood symptoms may be worse with a "natural" cycle. Ask your gyn to help you find a pill that makes your periods lighter, or less frequent. ...Read more

I got what seems to be my period today but i still have two more days on my active birth control pills. Is this normal? I had sex over a month ago without a condom but i was on the pill and I am consistent with taking it.

I got what seems to be my period today but i still have two more days on my active birth control pills. Is this normal? I had sex over a month ago without a condom but i was on the pill and I am consistent with taking it.

This : This can occur, and is nothing to worry about. In a situation such as this, continue taking the active pills as normal regardless if your period has started or not. There is a very low chance that the bleeding means you are/were pregnant. If you want to be 100% sure you can always take an early prediction pregnancy test. Continue with your pills as usual. If you continue to have irregular bleeding on your pills, you may need a different hormone formulation; your doctor will be able to evaluate your cycle history and prescribe a pill that will be better for you. Good luck. ...Read more

I recently started birth control after my period ran its course. It's been a little over a week with it and I have my period again? Is this normal?

Yes: Irregular menses, most likely due to anovulatory cycles, are common in teenage girls. Furthermore, your body takes time to adjust to hormones in birth control pills so spotting is common side effect. If concerned, go see prescribing physician. Don't forget to make him wear a condom each & every time to lower risk of sexually transmitted infections/diseases (not prevented by birth control pills). ...Read more
