I have borderline grade 2/3 ac joint separation. It has been about 3 months now since it happened and I still feel some pain. Is that normal?

Probably: Many patients will have some pain after this type of A-C injury for several months, so you are still in the range of normal/typical. Physical therapy is a benefit to some patients. Hopefully by 3 months, the pain has reduced to a very mild level. Avoid activities at this point that still cause pain. A grade 2 AC seperation typically is not painful long term. You need to have an exam and figure out what the correct diagnosis is. You may have developed arthritis in the AC joint. Injections and surgery are an option ...Read more
