UV filtration: Sunglasses lower the total amount of light to the eye and should also block uv light. Most will do this and any good optical shop with have such eyeglasses. Grey lenses are good and maintain normal color perception. Brown lenses cut through haze better but distort the color balance making red objects harder to distinguish. I live along the beach in Florida. What are my chances of getting early cataracts if I do not wear sunglasses vs. those that do not live in the south?
Not having them at : 61 is pretty good. I don't like sunglasses either. I had my 1st cataract removed last week, age 73, and the other will go in 2 weeks.
