Almost everything we eat past 8pm is unhealthy - unless you make a good effort and have some fruit or something. Nexium (esomeprazole): is a 24 hour drug. Personally I don't think it matters when you take it as long as you take it at approx the same time daily. It is not a take it as you need it drug. It does take a couple of days to start working well depending on the severity of your symptoms. ...Read more

If you exercise near: mealtime please make sure it is an hour or more after eating so your energy is not competing w/digestive process. If you exercise too close to bedtime it may keep you awake. May not be an issue: the recent data on niaspan was not great,. The drug did not significantly reduce mortality or morbidity. I suggest if your not taking the niacin for some other reason , stopping the medication and discontinue the eating before bed. of course check with your doctor before starting or stopping any of your medications. ...Read more

Far-fetched: Weight is calories in (eating, beverages) versus calories out (exercise, disease, daily living); there's nothing magic about time. I suspect this idea reflect the fact that you won't eat a lot if you go to sleep. The key is finding a fitness activity you like, and learning how to eat healthy.
