Is It Dangerous To Tatto Over A Deep Stretch Mark
I don't see why not: Should be fine; unless your birthmark was a hemangioma (a large collection of vessels in the skin) the birthmark is, literally, skin deep. You could even use your birthmark in the tattoo if u want! Make sure your artist is using clean technique, and that he/she is licensed. There is definitely a risk of getting an infection, even Hepatitis B/C, and we'd like to minimize that. Good luck! ...Read more

I would like to know if benzoyl peroxide is effective agaisnt red marks left by acne. I heard that it prolongs red marks. Is it true?
red=Inflammation: For over the counter methods try using products that have benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, alcohol, and acetone. For prescription treatments you may be prescribed antibiotics, retinoids or vitamin a derivatives, azelaic acid, oral contraceptives, or spironolactone. Always ask a dermatologist about the possible affects and the risks vs benefits of each treatment. Make sure it's best for you. ...Read more

No: Please read my recommendation to ur other question about tatto and scars. But tattooing a area with scar should not be more painful, unless there is a problem like active inflammatipn or infection. Then you should avoid the area completely. Even keloids are active inflammation areas and they should be avoided. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Have a bump from getting tattoo on stretch mark what is it ? Artist told me if I go back over it with ink it will go away is this true ?
Not sure: I'm not sure if the "bump" is the ink or an infection.. I don't think it was a good idea to get a tattoo over a stretch mark. It might be a good idea to get a second opinion from your family physician. ...Read more

Help, I put toothpaste on a pimple and burned my face. The scar has fallen off but it has left a dark scar. Can scar gel help? Also, how long would it take for the scar to fade as I am very worried. Thank you
Acne: It is very hard not to touch/squeeze/abuse pimples. Toothpaste probably didn't make things worse. A pimple is a pocket of inflammation; after it heals it can be darker or sometimes lighter than the surrounding skin. This can take a long time to fade. You should not worry, although you may be self conscious. It will get better. ...Read more
I had a scab, which is removed now and it shows pink skin do I put neosporin on it or aloe vera cream.. Is this a scar? How can I prevent it to scar
Leave it alone: I don't know how severe or large your skin injury was, or where it is on your body. But your skin was/is trying to heal itself underneath the scab, and you removed it before it could do that completely. All new skin is pink, whether or not it's going to scar. It may continue healing ; resolve. Don't use an antibiotic (including ointment) unless it looks infected (oozing pus, swollen, etc.). ...Read more
I had a facial mole removed by the shaving method. It is now flat but darker. Is there anyway to lighten it? Or does it need to be removed again?
May need excision: There is professional debate about the removal of benign skin lesions - whether to shave them off or cut them out (excise them). Of course sometimes a darkened scar can be helped by topical applications of a skin-lightening prescription-medication-crème (e.g., hydroquinone). Nonetheless, sometimes the most effective treatment of a round scar from shave-removal is actual excision of the round scar. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have a conjuctival nevus on my left eye? Will it be beneficial to remove it? Will it leave any scar?
Depends: You don't have to remove it if it's been stable for many years. If it is growing in size or changing in shape and may not be a nevus anymore, it is good to remove it. You could also do it for cosmetic reasons. If addressed properly, there should be no visually significant scar to the naked eye. That really depends on how you heal and the surgical technique used. ...Read more
