Doctor insights on:
Is It Dangerous To Take Low Dose Aspirin And Caditone
Generally no: Aspirin, which is often used to prevent the blood from clotting (and reduce the risk of heart attack) is often used in conjunction with beta blockers, of which caditone is one. However, drug regimens are very individualized as people can suffer side effects and idiosyncratic reactions even at low doses. If there is any concern, you need to work closely with your prescribing physician. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I'm on Armour Thyroid and kolonpin. Is it OK to take low does aspirin with these. Is there an interaction?
Hormone replacement: Its never a good idea to take a hormone as a supplement unless there is a deficiency. Even in some hormone deficiencies, the drawbacks to replacement outweigh the benefits. While there is some limited evidence that dhea replacement can help specific groups (people with addison's disease for example), I am unaware of evidence for general replacement. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Should be okay: The combination of Aspirin and Lorazepam does not seem alarming to any extent although i would caution that the propensity to fall while taking Lorazepam for some individuals would make the risk of serious bleed increased. This would be significant in the context of severe head trauma potentially leading to intracranial bleeding. This could be catastrophic although very rare. Stay safe! ...Read more

You may want to schedule closer appointments for monitoring while meds are being changed. If you have questions, always clarify with your doc :) ...Read more

Is it okay to stop taking teveten (eprosartan) for high blood pressure and take all natural carditone?
Not safe!: Teveten (eprosartan) is a great FDA approved medication with really minimal side effect profile! Carditone is NOT FDA approved, its major component is Rauwolfia, the parent of medication called Reserpine which is FDA approved version of Carditone but NOT a so great antihypertensive with a long list of side effects. So even between the two FDA approved meds (Teveten (eprosartan) (eprosartan) vs Reserpine), I do not recommend the switch ...Read more

Is it safe to continue taking antidepressants and anxiety medication with a liver ALT reading of 54 U/L? Is it dangerously high?
That depends: You didn't say which specific medications you take. We don't know anything about your overall health. The risks involved would need to be balanced with the severity of your mental health problems and how your symptoms improve on medication. I would talk to your prescribing provider about this. ...Read more
SIADH: Venlafaxine is within a class of drugs called SSRIs (Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors). This class of drug has been associated with SIADH. If this can be avoided that would be best depending on the severity of the low sodium(hyponatremia). Alternatively if this drug needs to be taken, the sodium should be watched carefully. I would seek the assistance of a nephrologist. ...Read more
