When I close my eyes and squeeze them, then when I open them again, I get clear vision. Why is this?

When I close my eyes and squeeze them, then when I open them again, I get clear vision. Why is this?

Possible dry eyes: The most common reason why people can have vision that blurs in and out is dry eye. While the eye is open, the tears evaporate, drying out the cornea surface and blurring the vision. Squeezing the eyes closeed causes a slight tearing response which lubricates the cornea, smoothing its surface and improving the vision. An easier way to achieve this is to use artificial tears 3-4 times per day. ...Read more

If I close my eyes really tight, my vision kind of greys out when I open them, why is that?

If I close my eyes really tight, my vision kind of greys out when I open them, why is that?

Reduced blood: If you close your eyes really tight, not only does it make the photoreceptors in your eyes more sensitive to light, but you may also be compressing the blood vessels. This would have the effect of overstimulating the photoreceptors, causing you to have funny vision for a few seconds — grey, funny lights, etc. Hope that helps! ...Read more

Why do my eyes look half open all the time bern like this all my life but i hve had my eyes checked numerous times 20/20 vision?

Possible protrusion: The forward position of the eyes in their sockets can be such that it appears as if the eyes are open, or staring. Are dry eyes common while taking Gabapentin causing my vision to be really blurry. I do have contacts in my eyes.

Dry eyes and blurry : Vision can occur with gabapentin use, although they are not "common", per se. Because you wear contacts, you may want to first try a new pair (if they're disposable), &/or try rinsing your lenses, or taking them out for a period. If ur vision/dry eye symptoms do not resolve, schedule a visit with ur doc, who can evaluate & advise/treat & discuss whether gabapentin is implicated. Be well! ...Read more

When I first open my eyes in the morning I can see the blood vessels inside my eyes in my vision for a second or so. Is this normal?

Yes: The retina is upside down with the blood vessels in front of the light receptors. These are ordinarily not seen because the retina ignores constant stimuli. Apparently about 10%: Of people can not see in 3D. Because humans have both eyes in front, the possibility of having them work together to create depth perception exists. The fusion in our brains of two slightly different pictures from each of our "cameras"/eyes gives the sense of three-dimensionality. Lazy eye and strabismus are conditions that interfere with eye coordination. It can be corrected, esp in children. ...Read more
