Serum cortisol level 13pg/ml at 9am after barely 2 hours of sleep at night are these results normal?
Looks fine: It is difficult to say how your getting only 2 hours of sleep would affect a 9 am cortisol but a value of 13 mcg/dl (usual units for this test) is well within the normal range of 5-20 and should reassure you and your doctor that you do not have adrenal insufficiency if that is the reason the test was ordered. ...Read more

Repeat lab: Your lab is normal, but mildly low for age. Make sure it was drawn in the morning, draw a second value for confirmation including measurement of free testosterone lh and prolactin. Skeptical.: Your ua level is elevated, but your symptoms are not entirely suggestive of gout. Anyway, it is reasonable to pursue a gout diet. Daughter diagnosed with Celiac Disease 8 weeks ago. Now has severe itching on lower legs only at night time. Low white blood count and high Globulin Serum levels. Severe weight loss, and bruising What could cause this?
There is a very: characteristic skin rash that accompanies celiac disease: dermatitis herpetiformis. Typically this is a skin manifestation of non-celiac wheat sensitivity. Extremely itchy bumps or blisters appear, especially on the forearms. The lab abnormalities you describe are not typical for celiac; in fact serum globulins may be low. I suspect more than one diagnosis; continue working closely with her Doctor ...Read more
Now I taking accutane, can I apply any serum at my face every night??....or do masker vitamin e..
Should i layer on my glycolic acid face moisturizer or should I just use it for night time? Can you layer vitamin C serum whith a retinol serum?Tyvm
I don't think: it matters if you use the glycolic acid in the morning or night application, but most would advise you use your retinol/Retin-A the opposite time of day. Many find the glycolic acid too drying/peeling for use during day (peeling looking skin). I recommend avoiding vitamin C serum at the same time as retinol; consider using the vitamin C every 2-3 days in place of glycolic acid. Good wishes:) ...Read more
My temp after i get to work is 99.1-99.4 . Evening and over night normal. I am ANA +1:640 spec pattern. High sed rate. Cbc ok. Metabolic ok. Serum protein ok. Lupus panel neg. Up back pain 1yr. Mri ok?
Yes: Mri is fine but be prepared for normal results. An elevated sed rate and ANA may indicate an inflammatory process in the body. A thorough work up would include hormone evaluation, sleep patterns, infection/immune system testing as well as nutrition review. These presentations can be frustrating so find a doctor that will take the time to listen and evaluate. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
