Is it bad to smoke with the anti rabies shots?

Is it bad to smoke with the anti rabies shots?

Yes: The "badness" of smoking remains the same, with or without rabies shots, so one should not smoke. However, if a person was out in the wild when bit by a rabid animal, and did not get the rabies shots started until it was too late, he will likely die of rabies. In that case, having a smoke before rabies symptoms start, should not cause any additional harm.

Is it possible for anti rabies shots to have bad side effects on humans?

Is it possible for anti rabies shots to have bad side effects on humans?

Not really: The newer vaccines are basically harmless. I underwent the series and if you think you have had an exposure, you need to do the same. If you have been exposed, and you neglect this, it will cost you your life.

I got bitten by my 1month 20 days old puppy. Bite was on the side of my thumb, do I need to take the anti-rabies shots?

Unlikely: Make sure your tetanus is up to date and keep the area clean and take a prescribed antibiotic. Ask the breeder but it's unlikely your puppy has rabies.

Got bit by doberman. Should I get anti tetanus, anti rabies shots?

Probably neither: If your tetanus shot is current, i.e., last booster within 5 years, another shot may not be needed. Domestic dogs are generally not considered rabid.

Is it okay to eat fried chicken after 3/4 anti rabies shots?

Yes - no restriction: After a vaccine, you can go about your life normally. I don't actually recommend fried chicken however, because it is unhealthy. Better to eat home cooked foods that have less saturated fat.

I already have an anti-rabies shot when I got bitten by a cat but now I got bitten by a dog, do I need to take an anti-rabies shot again?

I already have an anti-rabies shot when I got bitten by a cat but now I got bitten by a dog, do I need to take an anti-rabies shot again?

It depends...: Where you live in the world. Some areas of the world do not have rabies. If the dog that bit you has been immunized and is healthy then probably not. You really should report the bite to your local constabulary so they can do the research for you. If this dog has bitten before they would know this and it would have to be put down any way. Then it could be tested with brain biopsy. Call your Dr.

A countryside puppy with no anti-rabies shot, played with my kid, he wasn't bitten, I'm afraid that he might touch its saliva, should I be concerned?

A countryside puppy with no anti-rabies shot, played with my kid, he wasn't bitten, I'm afraid that he might touch its saliva, should I be concerned?

Probably OK: Your child might have been exposed to fleas from a stray puppy, but if he wasn't bitten there is little chance of harm.

I got bit 10 minutes ago by my chihuahua. He already had his anti rabies shot. Should I still go to the hospital?

I got bit 10 minutes ago by my chihuahua. He already had his anti rabies shot. Should I still go to the hospital?

Risk of infection: Bites from a domesticated dog can, but not usually, get infected. Mild bites only need to be cleaned out thoroughly and observed closely for signs of an infection (fever, pus, increasing redness, etc.) more severe bites should be evaluated by your doctor for possible other soft tissue injuries (tendons, ligaments, muscles, etc.) fyi...Cat bites should always be evaluated by your doctor.

I live in a dvlping nation, I wanted to take PreP anti rabies shot (3 doses) but doctor by mistake gave a series of Post Exp. (5 doses), will I be ill?

No: Giving you 5 doses of rabies vaccine instead of three will not hurt you but has made you more immune. After taking a pre- exposure course of three if u do get bitten by an animal then u are supposed to take 2 more doses on days 0 and 3 to complete the course. So u have already done so. Nothing to worry about.

A puppy with no anti-rabies shot, bit me in my thumb just below the nail. Is that enough to give me rabies?

Could be!: It would depend on where the puppy had been and what it had been exposed to. If it had come in contact with a rabid animal or carcass, or other rabid animal, and licked, chewed or faught with it, then you could get the rabies virus infection. You should quarantine the animal for 2 weeks, or have animal control do it and notify them immediatly and seek advise on rabies shots. Rabies is deadly!

What is the difference of anti rabies vaccine and booster shots?

No difference: When someone is potentially exposed to rabies (bites, bats, etc), the initial treatment is the rabies immune globulin & the rabies vaccine. The subsequent injections are the same rabies vaccine, 3, 7 & 14 days after the initial treatment.

Hi! My son had his anti rabies booster dose on june 2015. A week after, he was bitten by our vaccinated puppy. Does he needs another series of shots?

No: Three things. A properly vaccinated dog is not a rabies risk to anyone. A person with a proper primary and booster series for rabies is considered protected from any rabies exposures for two years from the date of the booster. There are other germs that can complicate a bite, so proper wound care and monitoring is important.
