Stop what?: Depending on the type of pill you are taking, frequency of periods varies. Some pills are designed to reduce the frequency to 3-4 times/year. It would be prudent to talk to your doctor who prescribed the pill. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine. ...Read more

Breakthrough bleed: Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at the wrong time) is very normal on birth control. It happens in about 1/3 of users. Its no big deal and usually self corrects over time. If you are not satisfied or it continues to happen then consider using a different birth control method. Several causes: Causes of irregular menstrual bleeding while on the pill include infection ( UTI OR STD) , pregnancy, antibiotic use affecting the efficacy of the pill, as well as uterine fibroids or cervical lesions. I : I am concerned about your symptoms and i feel that you need immediate medical evaluation. I can understand your concern about finances, but your health is the most important thing especially as a young mother. Your irregular bleeding is not normal, and the bloating is concerning. Please call the local clinics in your area and they can advise you on whether they can see you but they can also give you advice on where you can be seen. You should definitely get a full examination including a pelvic exam and a pap smear, and you may need imaging studies.
