Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Angiomas: Cherry angiomas are fairly common skin growths that vary in size. They can occur almost anywhere on the body, but usually develop on the trunk. They are most common after age 30. The cause is unknown, but they tend to be inherited (genetic). However, to be sure see your dermatologist. ...Read more

How do I take care of a blood blister on a navel piercing?

Keep it clean !!: New piercings are usually cleaned twice a day. Do not twist jewelry / post. Saturate gauze w saline solution (pinch of sea salt in warm water), place on piercing & allow it to gently drip into the piercing. Or you can buy pressurized saline solution at a drug store. An alternate way to clean navel piercings: rapidly turn over a cup of warm saline on to the piercing. This should create a small ...Read more

How do I get rid of a blood blister next to my tragus piercing. It doesn't hurt and isn't infected, but it just looks gross. I want it to go away.

How do I get rid of a blood blister next to my tragus piercing. It doesn't hurt and isn't infected, but it just looks gross. I want it to go away.

Chronic irritation: The tragus is composed of cartilage which gets it blood supply by diffusion. It is prone to an infection, and this could be an infection without purulent material. Constant irritation could make it look like a blood blister. It would be best to remove the piercing to get the tissue to heal. Clean the site with saline, apply antibiotic ointment every eight hours, and do not pierce until healed. ...Read more

Cherry angiomas: Relax and ignore them. If you don't like them a dermatologist can erase them with electrodessication or laser. I prefer electrdessication as it costs nothing. I can charge just a routine office visit. I can treat several every minute. There his a mild sting and they heal in 1 or 2 weeks, depending on size. Anticoagulation makes no difference. They are collections of capillaries filled with blood. ...Read more

I have what looks like a blood blister right between 2 teeth what will the treatment be since I'm pregnant?

Mama Needs an Exam!: What you are seeing could be there for a few different reasons... Since you are pregnant, it could be gingivitis caused by your body's hypersensitive (protecting baby) immune system. Since hormones from pregnancy can trigger other reactions in your cells, you definitely want to have your dentist check it out right away to rule out any unwanted lesion. ...Read more

I have a rather large blood blister on my stomach area and it started bleeding so I popped it. How can I now prevent infection?

I have a rather large blood blister on my stomach area and it started bleeding so I popped it. How can I now prevent infection?

Blood blister: Generally, blisters should not be "popped" as the area beneath them is sterile. Preventive measure for one you've broken: wash gently with warm soap & water; pat dry; apply antibiotic ointment & non-stick bandage. Watch for signs of infection: pain, increasing redness, pus. If those occur, see doc for treatment. Btw, may not have been blood blister: as we age get benign red lumps called hemangioma. ...Read more

I keep getting a blood blister on my stomach at the site of a lap. Surgery several years ago. Concerned?

No: This is likely not a blister, but more commonly is a reaction to suture material that is directly under the skin that the body is trying to extrude. You should see your surgeon and have him/her examine the area. If it is a stitch, then it can usually be removed in the office under local anesthesia. ...Read more

What are the causes of blood blisters under tragus piercings?

Irritation : Blood blisters most likely result from trauma or rubbing of the ornament on the skin. Foot felt a bit painful and i discovered I have a blood blister on the ball of the foot. Whats the best way to treat it a blister plaster?

Protect it: An unpopped blister represents a closed sterile environment. Yes on occasion one can become infected then it is time to open it, however the risk of infection in a dressed open wound is still higher than that of an intact blister.
