Is It Bad To Drink Your Own Breast Milk
No: Breast milk is very nutritious, and excellent for babies, so will be of no harm to adults (in small amounts). Breast milk is too rich, so will give an adult too much animal fat (yes, we are animals) and many extra calories. Most moms with excess breast milk just freeze it for use later when their babies are weaned off the breast, but surely some frozen milk gets wasted (thrown away). ...Read more
Can you make a cup of tea using breast milk? Would this be bad for adults to drink their own milk?
You can for tea but: No it is not healthy for adults as it is high in chlesterol and it is high in cholesterol as babies benefit from high cholesterol levels, that's why synthetic infant formulas are beginning to include fatty acids as well. But what is good for the babies is not good for adults. Secondly breast milk also is high in sugar which is lactose. ...Read more
Sure.: If you are not a nursing infant then you don't really require the nutritional composition of breast milk, but it's certainly not dangerous. It has a lot of fat, and antibodies/nutrients - but for a healthy, immunocompetent adult I don't think drinking breast milk is necessary for optimal nutrition. It's safe, just a little weird, ;-). Cheers! ...Read more

Can my one year old go without drinking milk? I'm weening him off breast milk but he rejects milk.
I am curious to know if a drink or two is safe and what the side-effects if it were to pass through the breast milk?
Hard to comment: There are arguments back and forth about the safety of alcohol consumption during breastfeeding there are some basic facts. Alcohol will pass through the breast milk and it lingers in the milk after it is made. Alcohol converts to byproducts (formaldehyde) that are toxic to the developing brain. There is no level of alcohol exposure that is considered safe to a developing infant. ...Read more

Is it true that if a baby did not drink breast milk in infancy, his immune system becomes weaker later in life?
I wanted a second opinion. A doctor told me that if I drink odouls, it will help me produce breast milk. Is this true?
Maybe, maybe not: Taking adequate amounts of fluid can assist your milk production. Years ago many encouraged some beer intake for this purpose but data show any alcohol ingestion can decrease prolactin, the hormone that assists milk formation. Since o'douls has a minimal alcohol content, it would be less likely to produce a problem. ...Read more
When can I start giving water to drink to a baby he is 3 months old now and he usually gets hickups and I use breast milk to help him from that?
Not helpful: Infants have no need and derive no benefit from water supplements. Breast milk or formula is designed to provide for all of babies needs.
