Is It Bad If My 4 Wk Old Sleeps On Her Side Once In A While
Sure: The "back to sleep" campaign began in 1994 to educate folks about ways to reduce the risk for sudden infant death syndrome (sids). The campaign was named for its recommendation to place healthy babies on their backs to sleep, which seems to reduce the risk for sids. However, it's fine if baby rolls to another position while she is sleeping - no need to reposition her. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My baby is 6 months she has a heavy cough right now.. Is it better for her to sleep on her back or stomache ?
On her side. : I would not recommend you put her on her belly and you may be to worried to put her on her back so a comfortable and safe position for her might be on her side. You can also raise the head of the crib slightly. Is she vaccinated? Has she seen her pcp lately? Would not want to miss an rsv, croup or whooping cough. Good luck. Hope she gets better soon. /jp. ...Read more
My five month old has been scratching her left ear for about a month now. What is the cause? She even does it in her sleep. No temperature.
Multiple possible: By 5 mo, an infant can put their hand where they want. This can be to signal discomfort in the ear (pressure.infection) ,referred discomfort of teething, an itchy feeling in the ear, etc. In the absence of fever or mood change, I would not assume it is very important. ...Read more

Activity based : If she can stand, walk, balance one one foot at a time & hop on one foot at a time all without falling down in pain; you can probably use cold compresses over the hurting area & monitor for a day or two.If not an early eval at urgent care is indicated. Most skeletal pain & stiffness will increase some up to 48h before improving, but that is the general aches.Ibuprophen should help too. ...Read more

My daughter is 14 yr old .She fell and get unconcious when she was in bathroom because of vertigo . It was her 4 th day of her period. Is it serios?
Can be: Whether it is serious in her case or not, it's hard to tell because more info would be needed and physical exam needs to be performed to assess the severity of her condition. It can be serious because she may have injured her brain by hitting her head against the floor or other bathroom structures. I'd take her to er and get her checked. ...Read more

Hi my baby is 6 weeks old she has a rash on her face, head and chest for a week now she also has cradle cap is this normal? How do i alleviate it?
Is it the same rash?: Cradle cap can extend down to the face, neck, and chest. There are some non-prescription remedies such as selenium-based shampoos (don't get it in her eyes!), but other treatments require a doctor visit. Either way, be patient - there's no reason why she can't have beautiful baby skin after this clears up. ...Read more

Benign torticollas: There is a poorly understood process called benign paroxysmal torticollis of infancy that arises in late infancy. It is transient , recurrent & can be associated with agitation, pallor or vomiting. Workup and Mgt: I agree that this may be a mild viral illness, which should resolve spontaneously.
