I need to take at least two naps a day after getting 8 hours of sleep a night. What's wrong?

Possibly sleep apnea: Sounds like you're not getting a good night's sleep. Have there been events in your life that have disturbed your normal routine: stress, death, illness, etc? One other possibility is that you may be suffering from sleep apnea where for some reason your airflow is being cut off & you're waking up periodically throughout the night, which would interfere with getting a good night's rest. I can sleep through the night fine. But if I try to take a nap during the day I get a bad headache. Why is this?

Avoid Naps: If you can't sleep through the night, it is best to avoid naps. Your goal is to regulate your night time sleep, instead of playing nap catch up. Try to set a regular wake time and get out of bed after 20 mins of tossing and turning. I have more sleep tips in my feed or look up healthy sleep habits. Consult w/ your doc about the headaches. ...Read more

I have a 19 month old. .. He used to be two napper but now he does not take one nap. He sleep in my lap but when I put him jn crib he wakes up?

Habit: Your child has learned that his favorite place to fall asleep is while you hold him. When babies are little, many parents rock them to sleep. Over time this becomes their signal to relax. When you place him in his crib he sense it's not your lap and cannot relax. When he looks sleep put in crib - he may fuss for awhile but let him learn to fall asleep in there. ...Read more

Prescribed methadone for pain every 8 hours, is it required to take every 8 hours If I would be asleep or needs to be 3x day to work?

Once a day can work: Methadone has a very long half life and is commonly given as a once a day dose. I'm a bit surprised you're taking methadone, but also mentioned Percocet as current medication. Both drugs are strong narcotics and not frequently prescribed together except in difficult pain management cases. I wonder if you have developed an addiction to narcotics. You: You should have a test for hypothyroidism (blood for tsh) but you likely have obstructive sleep apnea. Your weight is the major cause for that. I suspect you snore at night. People who wake up after lots of sleep and still feel tired and sleep have sleep apnea and until proven otherwise. Your lpid levels and vitamin are expected with your bmi but they do not explain your fatigue and sleepiness. See your doctor, get the thyroid tests and if they are normal get a sleep study. Sleep apnea is extremely common and overlooked by patients and doctors. ...Read more
