Is it bad for students sleep to take 2 hour naps every day?

Is it bad for students sleep to take 2 hour naps every day?

Yes and NO: It suggests the student is not getting enough sleep at night. Sleep is very important to perform well in the day time. When you require naps it is probably due to poor sleep. About 9 hours is a good amount of sleep every night. If he is getting 9 hours then the quality of sleep may be a problem. Talk with your doctor about sleep problems, may need sleep study.

I need to take at least two naps a day after getting 8 hours of sleep a night. What's wrong?

Possibly sleep apnea: Sounds like you're not getting a good night's sleep. Have there been events in your life that have disturbed your normal routine: stress, death, illness, etc? One other possibility is that you may be suffering from sleep apnea where for some reason your airflow is being cut off & you're waking up periodically throughout the night, which would interfere with getting a good night's rest. Check w/ md.

Remember: Fatigue and "sleeping a lot" are very nonspecific symptoms, with many causes. If you are worried about her, you should make sure this issue is reviewed with her primary care doctor so that a reasonable evaluation can be undertaken.

I can sleep through the night fine. But if I try to take a nap during the day I get a bad headache. Why is this?

I can sleep through the night fine. But if I try to take a nap during the day I get a bad headache. Why is this?

Avoid Naps: If you can't sleep through the night, it is best to avoid naps. Your goal is to regulate your night time sleep, instead of playing nap catch up. Try to set a regular wake time and get out of bed after 20 mins of tossing and turning. I have more sleep tips in my feed or look up healthy sleep habits. Consult w/ your doc about the headaches.

My teenage daughter is tired every morning even after 14 hrs and takes naps after that much sleep. Has no illness but stays up late & gets up late?

My teenage daughter is tired every morning even after 14 hrs and takes naps after that much sleep. Has no illness but stays up late & gets up late?

Change sleep pattern: Your daughter needs to change her time of sleep. She may not be actually sleeping enough and feels tired. She may start going to sleep by 8-9 p.m.and get up at 6-7 a.m.so she gets9-10 hours sleep, then she will feel fresh. Make it sure T.V.is off in her room and may have to cut down telephone talk late at night. She may have little nap if she wants.

Habit: Your child has learned that his favorite place to fall asleep is while you hold him. When babies are little, many parents rock them to sleep. Over time this becomes their signal to relax. When you place him in his crib he sense it's not your lap and cannot relax. When he looks sleep put in crib - he may fuss for awhile but let him learn to fall asleep in there.

Why do I have really bad insomia? It takes me forever to fall asleep and sometimes I try to take naps and I cant sleep even though I am so tired.

Insomnia is sleep: Difficulty. It can be difficult to go to sleep or stay asleep. See your doc and perhaps a mental health professional to learn techniques to help. Food plan, exercise, lifestyle change, etc all can help. Peace and good health. Stop things like using computer, exercise, etc. One hour prior to sleep.

Fatigue: Stress, endocrine problem might need to be addressed. Also, how is your exercise or activity level? A pill can provide short term relief, but at 27 I would still look for a better solution.

Is it okay to take melatonin every night to sleep? I have trouble falling asleep and I've been under alot of stress lately.

Yes.: If it works for you, then you can take it every night to help you sleep. It is fairly safe and non-addicting. It may cause headache, dizziness and cramping. You should wait at least 4-5 hours before attempting to drive or operate machinery. You could also try learning deep breathing and muscle relaxation techniques from a therapist. There are apps that help you quiet your mind and meditate.

Nerve compression: The position you sleep in may be causing compression of a neurovascular bundle. The nerves and blood vessels that supply the hand and forearm pass into the arm under the pectoralis muscle and may be getting squeezed by sleeping on your side in a scrunched up position. Doing pect stretches before bed may help.

Would sleep issues with bipolar include body aches, takes a while to wake up, and irriatable every single time I wake up. Known to fall asleep everywh?

Possible: Bipolar disoder can cause a variety of problems with sleep and mood. However, the "falling asleep everywhere" is not a common problem with bipolar disorder, unless you are experiencing severe depression. If you are currently taking medication, it is possible that you are experiencing some sedation that may be interfering with your normal sleep cycle. Please check this out with your doctor.
