Is It A Good Idea To Get Surgery To Heal My Broken Left Hand
X-Ray revealed I fractured a big toe. Do I need to go back to PCP for a splint/other procedure? Is it safe to deal with it on my own, or is that bad
Toe: It all depends on how bad the fracture is and what part of the toe it involves. If you get poor healing from not receiving the right treatment, then you will be stuck with a permanent poor outcome. I would recommend that you get in to your physician and make sure your treatment is the right for your situation. Good luck. ...Read more

Elbow fracture: Numbness implies injury or irritation to the median, ulnar, or radial nerves or their branches. An open fracture usually implies more soft tissue injury and damage than a closed fracture. It may take 3 months or longer. It depends whether the nerve, the nerve sheath, or continuity of the nerve is involved. ...Read more

If i damaged a ligament can it heal it self or do I have to get a surgery. I can't bend my leg all the way it hurts on the right side of my knee.
It is a possibility: That it will heal by itself. Ligaments are in every joint and their function to create an orthopedic stability. They are relatively elastic and can lengthen under stress and then return to their original shape. Good rest, moist heat, otc anti-inflammatory and passive physical stretching will be helpful. If the condition is not improved in one week, see your health care provider. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have a broken pinky finger left hand dr says they have to rebreak in order to fix for me to be able to make a fist is this common practice?
See the doc: Go to a foot/ankle specialist to get a proper exam. Your doc will physically examine the ankle to check range of motion and localized pain. Xrays will highlight alignment and check for fractures, but if necessary, an MRI would reveal both bone and soft tissue damage. Don't attempt to treat this on your own. ...Read more

I'm experiencing acute pain 13 days after carpal tunnel surgery in my left hand. I'm wondering if I should go get it checked? Appearance is normal.
Pain hand: Acute pain, yes there can be an infection or another issue, call your doctor. Other things such as arthritis at th base of the thumb, or irritation from prolonged dependency on splints may be suspect as well. Breathlessness, nausea, lightheadedness. Breathlessness is worse while laying on left hand side. Ecg's have come out good. Any ideas?
Not heart: It doesn't sound like your heart so it's not surprising that your ECG is normal. Have you had a chest x-ray? Oxygen saturation? D-dimer (to rule out blood clot). I would be concerned about fluid in your lung. Do you have fever? Elevated white blood count? Cough? Phlegm? Wheezing? An ECG is not an adequate evaluation of your symptoms. ...Read more

Surgery:, what is carpaioltunnel, and what can you do about it?Do i need surgery? My left hand throbs, feels like needles in it all the time, and hurts badley.
Carpal : Carpal tunnel syndrome is typically experienced as the hand "falling asleep" with numbness and tingling, mostly involving the thumb, index, and middle fingers. Some people will also have wrist pain with it. Early, mild cases do not require surgery, but more advanced cases will. It is best to see a certified hand surgeon for a full nerve evaluation, as more things than just carpal tunnel syndrome can cause the symptoms. A related condition, cubital tunnel syndrome is also common and involves the small finger (pinky) and often the ring finger. It requires surgery less often. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Depends on when: Crystal meth will cause alterations in your blood pressure and possibly make you slightly more difficult to sedate. If you smoked it just before your surgery tell the anesthesiologist if not then if at all possible avoid smoking it around the surgery date. Maybe this will be a good opportunity to enter a rehab program. Discuss it with your doctor. ...Read more
