Insect bites are from mosquitos, spiders, flies, ticks, and other species that use their mandibles (jaws) to attach to a person or other animal. They can then suck blood out of their "prey" and leave saliva proteins that cause itching and swelling. Other insect species, like bees, yellow jackets, wasps, hornets and fire ants actually inject venom into their prey and can not only cause localized pain and swelling, but severe, acute allergic reactions in ...Read more
Bites: Bed bug bites may cause no symptoms or signs in some people. When there is a reaction, it may not show until several days after the bed bug has bitten. It can cause pink, swollen, itchy lesions on the skin. What can be telltale is when there is a linear track of lesions from sequential feedings – but that does not always occur. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I am experiencing skin rash (quality: itchiness, blisters, flaking or scaling) . : Skin redness or irritation. Not contagious.
Rash 3 weeks Original rash looks like it's healing but skin around it is red and raised with tiny clear fluid blisters ?
Sound like a burn: Your symptoms are suggestive of a burn, or sunburn, as in a 1st degree burn, where you have redness and blisters but no true deep skin damage. It is typical for a rash to clear and have blisters left over; they are tiny areas of inflammation fluid left over from the active rash process. It sounds like it is resolving. If it persists are recurs, you should probably see a dermatologist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What could cause rash, blistering/swelling, and scabbing on ear.. With no history of burns, scrapes, insect bites, or contact with allergens?
? Impetigo: What you describe sounds suspicious for impetigo, a strep infection of your skin. You can have a tiny break in your skin that you were not even aware of, and the normal skin bacteria could then enter in and cause a local strep infection. The "scabbing" is what makes me especially suspicious. Try washing with antibacterial wash, put on antibiotic ointment, and if not better in a few days, see doc. ...Read more

See a derm, biopsy: You should see a dermatologist for evaluation, possible cultures and/or biopsy, and advice on treatment. They will also need to take a thorough medical history. Almost any kind.: Virtually any sort of bug bite can cause blistering. I generally don't recommend popping these blisters unless they are painful, because of the risk of infection. If it's not bothering you, cover it with a bandaid. If it itches, apply Hydrocortisone cream 2-3 times a day. If it gets painful or tender, or develops a red ring around it, see your doctor or a dermatologist. ...Read more

The skin on my scrotum & shaft is red, itchy, and swollen. No bumps of any kind. The scrotal skin is also oozing fluid. Is this a fungus or bacteria?
Either one: Either fungal infectioni or certain bacterial infections can do this. "Oozing fluid" suggests a fairly severe infection, so it may not be safe to attempt over-the-counter treatment, and it's possible you would benefit from an oral antibiotic prescription. See a doctor and take it from there. Good luck! ...Read more
