Im 3 days from my due date and I have been having very painful heartburn is it a sign of labor or not I have already lost my mucus plug?

Im 3 days from my due date and I have been having very painful heartburn is it a sign of labor or not I have already lost my mucus plug?

Could be both..: Labor or contractions typically cause cramping pain, often mid to lower abdomen, for a few minutes at a time, then eases up and the cycle repeats over and over until the baby is born. Heartburn or reflux often cause more constant pain and lasts much longer. It is not unreasonable to try some tums/pepcid, but being 3 days before due date, and loss of mucus plug, chance of labor is high. Good luck. ...Read more

I am in 39 week of my pragnancy. How much my baby must move? Can decreased movements be a sign of labour and what can be th reason of this?

Baby Kick Count: Yes at 39 weeks decreased fetal movement can be a sign of early labor, but always worrisome if truly decreased. If you lay on your left side after eating a meal and you don't feel baby move 10 times in an hour you should then go to labor and delivery for evaluation. Usually will feel baby move 10 times in short amount of time. Always better to get evaluated than worry. Good luck! ...Read more

Not normal but seen: Constant back pain limiting basic activities of daily living (e.g. Walking or sitting) isn't normal; not even at 40 week of pregnancy. The weight gain, the "basketball" & surge in hormone preparing pelvic bones for delivery may contribute to the problem. Constant severe activity limiting pain should be discussed with ob. C-section is considered as the condition may interfere w/ vaginal delivery. ...Read more
