How do you start birth control after pregnancy? Breast feeding & got the mini pill, but II heard that women sometimes don't start period so soon.

Can start right now: It is safe to start birth control right away after a pregnancy - you don't have to wait for a period. Just start with the first pill in the pack, and it will regulate your cycle. Remember, with the mini pill, it is important to take your pill around the same time every day, and to switch to stronger birth control when you stop nursing/pumping, or slow down to nursing/pumping only twice a day. ...Read more

High hormone levels: Emergency bc and regular birth control have hormones. Too high levels of hormones cause side effects. Sounds to me as if you don't trust your pills. Oral birth control: At 18, your weight and breast size have not reached normal proportions of adulthood. Oral contraceptives in low doses (such as Yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) and others) will not effectively change your breast size or weight. You can try, but don't be disappointed if you do not see results to your liking. if you are sexually active, the "benefits" are limited to very secure birth control. ...Read more
