Hi, good day. Is it good to take a shower immediately after my intense workout in gym? Thank you doc.
Start slow.: Don't hit it too hard too fast. Start slow, maybe twenty minutes of light cardiovascular work to get your feet wet. As this becomes easier, lengthen your sessions and go harder. Start with twenty minute sessions and increase duration and intensity from there. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Either: Both walking and biking produce positive cardiovascular changes. The magnitude of this positive effect is based on the intensity, which can be measured by heart rate, and duration. Shoot for 30min of moderately vigorous exercise most days of the week, as recommended by ACSM, ACA. Heart rate target should be 60-85% of estimated max heart rate (start lower and work up over time). Ask Surgeon: Check with your surgeon. Much depends on the level and the rest of the system. What risk are you taking and will you be in pain or aggravate a painful situation. Worst of all, if you reward yourself with food or extra calories after exercise, you negate all the calories burned. ...Read more

22 min a day!: Studies show that 150 min of aerobic exercise a week, divided by at least 5 days is optimal for health. Any exercise that is non-stop and gets you breathing a bit harder and feeling a little warm is great. So, bike, walk (briskly), swim, treadmill, a class, etc. Are all great! ...Read more
