Is Ginger Beer Good For Your Health
Any tips on quitting tobacco. And I read that drinking a beer once in awhile is good for your health, is that true?
Smoking, chewing?: I'm guessing you mean smoking, but it can be a challenge to quit chewing, too. You probably know about the nicotine patches and gum - they help. There is also an anti-depressant medication that is marketed to help people stop smoking (zyban), and a newer drug (chantix) that can work well, too. Both of these require a prescription. Most people quit on their own. Bribe yourself if needed! Good luck.
Human studies suggests that 1g daily of ginger may be effective for nausea and vomiting in pregnant women when used for short periods (no longer than 4 days). Several studies have found that ginger is better than placebo in relieving morning sickness. In a small study of 30 pregnant women with severe vomiting, those who took 1 gram of ginger every day for 4 days reported more relief from vomiting than those who took placebo. In a larger study of 70 pregnant women with nausea and vomiting, those who received a similar dosage of ginger felt less nauseous and did not vomit as much as those who received placebo. Pregnant women should ask their doctor before taking ginger, and should be careful not take more ...Read more
I read that beer or liquor (example: vodka) are equally as good for your health (when having 1 drink per day) as wine. Is this really true?
Not all buzzes equal: 1.5 oz of liquor, 4-5 oz wine, 12 oz beer in US has generally same alcohol content. While controversial no alcohol is probably best but generally accepted 1-2/day max may be safe. Health benefits may vary, red wine generally accepted as better. In past showed greater association of cataracts with beer and hard liquor. Bottom line occasionally one won't hurt. Don't save up for all 14 on weekend
Depends: How much? How often? Other specifics about the person? Moderate amounts, not too often for a healthy active adult should be fine - both physically & mentally. Drinking to intoxication, or too often - especially for folk in less than good condition is not healthy - both physically & mentally. Best!
I had 10mg of zolpidem and two light beers, I am a 140lb, 5'3 woman in good health, will I be okay?
Most likely, yes: In general, we don't recommend drinking alcohol & taking sleeping pills together. Please do not risk doing this again in the future.
Depends: The safe drinking limit in men ages 21-59 is no more than 2 standard drinks per day (or 2 12-oz. Bottle of beers), and in women (and men over 60) no more than 1 standard drink per day. Also never more than 3 drinks on one occasion for women, or 4 drinks for men, and no more than 7 standard drinks/week in women and men over 60, and 14 drinks/week in younger men. This increases good cholesterol-HDL
I'm thinking to use park avenue beer shampoo is beer good for health? Even tell me its advantage n disadvantages
Unanswerable: There was nothing in medical school teaching us about putting beer in the hair. We do not endorse products here on health tap. So, I hope you are not too disappointed but this is not a question that will lead to a simple answer. I would say that alcohol is not something that is good for your skin or your hair.
Beer: I wouldn't say it is healthy for you. With no alcohol content it is less unhealthy though
I heard that drinking beer is good for health. I never drink in my life. In past 3 years I had 2 episodes of pancreatitis. May I start drink bear?
Not wise for you: There is some evidence that there may be some health benefits to moderate alcohol consumption such as 1 glass of beer or wine a day, alcohol is known to aggravate pancreatitis, so it would be unwise for someone with a history of pancreatitis to drink alcohol. Pancreatitis is often related to gallbladder problems. See http://www. Townsendletter. Com/july2011/momiracles0711.Html.
Is 1 beer a day good for overall health & could prevent kidney stones? Am I misinformed about this?
Possibly: Moderate (1-2 drinks daily) alcohol consumption in men has been shown to reduce blood pressure and increase hdl. The increase in urine volume may be helpful in the reduction of stone formation. However, if one does not drink alcohol these are not felt to be reasons to start doing so.See 1 more doctor answer
I went to the doctor the other day. I've been having bloody stools, he said I have hemorroids. Is this from too much beer? Its been 4 days now and I'm still seeing blood in the toilet only when I poop. I'm 37 years old and in fairly good health. I do drink
Only if a LOT: Of beer. Cirrhosis of the liver can manifest with varicose veins of both the esophagus (gullet) and of the veins around the rectum (hemorrhoids). Your doctor can do blood tests for your liver, and if there is concern, do various kinds of scans on liver to determine if this is the problem. If you are a 'social' drinker (2 or fewer drinks per day), then this is less likely. Talk to your doctor.See 1 more doctor answer
It depends: One man's food is another's poison. Ancient Greek physicians recognized this verity. So of course beer can be good or bad as a food and beverage. Small amounts of alcohol have had numerous reports of improving health. In general if one is drinking more than 16oz per day for men and 8 oz of 6% beer for women one can rightfully be concerned about abuse and detrimental effects.
Beer Myths: Please do not believe everything you hear. There is no difference and no health or nutritional benefits regardless what kind of beer you prefer. Moderation is the key. Cheers!
Rational drinking: If you are not an alcohol dependant person, rational drinking entails not going over 30-50 grams of alcohol daily (one or two beers). People who drink beer heavily get more calories, excess fluid (might affect kidneys and heart), drinking more that two beers per hour might impair your performance, including driving, and continued drinking can cause alcohol dependence, as any other alcoholic drink.
Good Question: The downside of beer is generally related to alcohol, calories, or gluten sensitivity. Whether wheat beer or regular beer the downsides are likely the same depending on the differences in the above factors. In terms of positive effects of beer on health they too are related to alcohol and it is a food with calories and nutrients. Online review of beer's health benefits available?
