The nutrition facts on a food has carbs and then sugar. Do they mean the simple sugars aka monosacharides; glucose, fructose, and galactose?
Food Labels: Total carbohydrates include all sugars and fiber. Sugar includes simple sugars and sugar alcohol. Both?: Lean proteins have little fat. Fish, poultry-both skin less, lean red meat, lean pork-all qualify. Beans and lentils have carbs which are complex, have fiber, and much protein.
