Is Fresh Juice Water Straight Out Of A Coconut A Laxative
Is a cleansing for 3 days, every month, good or bad? A cleanse being no food but a drink consisting of epsom salts, grapefruit juice and olive oil.
No proof: There is no proof of any benefit nor of safety from cleansing, regardless of regimen. There is no proof that any toxic stool builds up in your colon. Just eat plenty of fruits & vegetables on a daily basis. While i can't speak for south africa, in the states, we recommend screening colonoscopy for low risk patients beginning at 50yo. Prep for that will clean out bowels but not necessary every mont. ...Read more
A tiny bit of lemon: Helpful weight loss diets have natural foods that take time to chew but contain few calories. Examples include carrots, celery, and iceberg lettuce (little/no salad dressing). When shopping for fruits, buy small ones no bigger than a tennis ball, because fruits have sugar. Drinks without calories include water and green tea. A calorie is a calorie, but surely avoid sugar & simple starch calories. ...Read more
Is bicarbonate (sodium bicarbonate) of soda a good home remedie for a UTI I have read a spoonful in a glass of water is good ?
Not really: It's probably the fluid alone - alkalinizing your urine will not kill bacteria in your urine. You should remain "hydrated" at all times (urine output >/= 2 quarts/day). (urinary alkalinization is usually a treatment for uric acid kidney stones - but is better done as potassium citrate/not sodium bicarbonate.). ...Read more
There is a lot of buzz surrounding coconut oil.. Should i incorporate couple table spoons of virgin coconut oil into my diet everyday for good health?
Follow diet exactly: One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage. ...Read more
Safe, but why?: I don't know what good this would do, but it certainly won't be harmful, assuming no more than a couple ounces of oil and that you're not trying to control your weight. (An ounce of olive oil has about 250 calories.) If in moderation and you like the taste, feel free. If not, don't do it. ...Read more
Is it safe to mix Kristulose/Lactulose with prune juice? I put it in an 8 oz glass of prune juice each morning.
Yes: It is safe but I'm wondering why at your age it's required. That is where my concern is. ...Read more
Probably OK: A gallon a day is probably more than what you need if you are not exercising vigorously or sweating a lot. However if you are feeling well otherwise, there is no harm done. Be sure that you don't have any health conditions which may cause you to have excessive thirst (diabetes is just one example) and urination. ...Read more
Is a cup of homemade yogurt from whole nonorganic milk healthy to drink everyday or is too much for everyday use ?
I drink a teaspoon of a liquid fish oil supplement ever day. Will this dilute the eaffect of the fish oil in any way?
Fish oil: I'm not sure what you mean by "dilute" the effect if you drink the supplement? Fish oil can be taken as a liquid or in capsules. Some find the capsules more palatable. Make sure your teaspoon contains at least 1-2 grams of epa and 500mg of dha per day, to get the amount you need. Some conditions may require more. ...Read more
Is it true you can lose weight if you have a tad of fresh lemon juice with a pinch of salt on a empty stomach, daily?
I drink an 8 ounce of water w/ a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar before going to bed every night. Is there a possibility i can fall into anemia?
Females and Anemia: There is nothing about water and vinegar to discuss. I am not sure why you would consider this as a cause of anemia. Most females who have anemia are not eating enough protein or iron and they lost a lot of blood with their monthly periods. As a side note there is absolutely no medical or health benefit from ingesting vinegar every day. ...Read more

Eat Oats: Mmm good!: Eating a bowl of oats with water sounds good, not bad. But, it isn't clear whether this is recommended for your diet. If you're on a special diet for medical purposes please speak with your health care provider. In general, long-term sustainable, and balanced eating habits are far superior to shorter-term "diets.". ...Read more
Intriguing research: Cranberry juice is rich in d-mannose which can treat/prevent urinary infections. New research shows the antioxidants in it can improve arterial dilation & may help arteries be less stiff. It looks like cranberry juice can prevent arteriosclerosis but it is not yet clear if it "cleans out" arteries- more research is needed- but it may reduce calcium deposits.
