Is Flecainide A Good Medication To Control Svt
I was diagnosed with SVT and had a heart ablation done 6 mo ago but still having palpitations. Any suggestions? Taking bystolic (nebivolol) and flecanide
I when to see my dr and told him i was having side effects with medication flecainide he said is ok continue medication is this the right thing?
What side effects?: Flecainide is a very potent medication and can cause some side effects. The benefits often outweigh the side effects. Without knowing what reaction you are having it is hard to know what to tell you other than potentially asking for a referral to a cardiologist if this physician is not one. If he or she is a cardiologist you may want to ask your internist or primary care physician for more info. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

EKG and Flecanide: Flecanide will not cause Long QT but may manifest Brugada like EKG. Brugada EKG is Dynamic. i.e not present all the times but certain drugs like Flecanide may manifest it. It is true: removing the drug will correct the EKG, but in individuals who had Brugada like EKG on Flecanide and who are symptomatic with loss of consciousness etc. further testing for risk assessment is needed. ...Read more

Depends on type: Depending on the specific type of SVT you're experiencing, different medications will work better than others. What to do if patient has high hr, no energy, lightheartedness, svt, 180 bpm. what medication would you give?
Seek urgent care: If your heart rate remains 180 bpm, for more than a couple hours, you could experience heart failure.
