Is Five Minute Apgar Score Less Than Or Equal To 6 A Symptom Of Premature Baby
Twin girls born at 24 weeks weighing less than 500 grams each . How high is the possibility of survival?
You'd be amazed...: The majority of 24 week infants now survive, especially if they make it through the first 48 hours of life. That's not to say they may not have significant problems with breathing, feeding, development, vision. You also don't say 24 weeks and how many days . 24 weeks 0 days is worse than 24 weeks 5 days - at that stage of the game, every extra day makes a difference. Had 2 babies over 40. Is that considered high risk for breast cancer? Breastfeed both. How much higher of a risk than average woman.
Minimal if any: We don't truly understand what "causes" breast cancer outside certain mutations (brca1/2) ; in most cases its a combination of factors - gene switches ; lifetime experiences. Many items associated w/ "risk" have been identified such as early menarche, late 1st period, mammo density. These are not causes but likely surrogates for other influencing factors. #1 risk: being female and having breast. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Baby motrin or baby tylenol (acetaminophen)? From a doctors standpoint, is one more effective than the other and does one have a higher risk? 6mo teething baby.
Both are good: Tylenol (acetaminophen) has fewer reported complications so may be a bit 'safer' but Motrin is going to be more effective in reducing a fever. For a non-fever minor pain situation like teething, i'd use tylenol (acetaminophen) first but if that doesn't help Motrin would be most likely fine assuming you are carefully observing dosing recommendations. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
I have heard that fetal heart rate bear a relation with the gender of the baby. Less than 140 BPM indicates a boy and vice versa. How far is this true?
Not true.: All the indirect "signs" of fetal gender are old wive's tales; if you want to know your baby's sex, just get an ultrasound (or even blood test nowadays such as maternit21/harmony). There is no scientific proof that male fetuses have lower baseline heart-rate in comparison to females. Gender does not affect fetal heart rate variation. Oguch o, steer p.
