Could be either: A localized infection in that area of gums is difficult to diagnose without and exam and an X-ray . Mrsa hand infection near the thumb tendons. is this very risky?

Mrsa hand infection near the thumb tendons. is this very risky?

Not life-threatening: BUT, very important none-the-less to get excellent treatment. You SHOULD be seeing a hand surgeon (Orthopaedics subspecialty) -and if not, insist on 'why not'? Obviously the hand is extremely important, and any loss of function is very bad. MRSA is a 'bad bug' when you think of all the germs that are out there. With good treatment though, you should be able to recover just fine. Hope u get answers ...Read more

Lacerated toe. Infected, swollen, red, radiating pain. Now, urge to urinate often and rectal discharge/itching. Coincidence or infection spreading?

Sounds awful: That sounds like a nasty toe laceration, and if infected it should be looked at by a primary care or urgent care Dr. who will see if it needs to be drained or consider antibiotics. A spreading infection can lead to fever, chills, spreading redness, fatigue then may lead to diarrhea, but what you're describing without the other symptoms I've mentioned is unlikely to be from a toe infection. ...Read more
